Financial Support For Learners

The 16-19 (under 19 on the 31 August 2013) bursary fund provides financial support for learners following Education Funding Agency programmes (Study Programmes)

There are two elements of the bursary:

Learners in the following groups can access a bursary of £1200 per year:

*young people in care
*care leavers
*young people claiming income support in their own name
*disabled young people who receive both Employment Support Allowance and Disability Living Allowance or Personal Independence Payments in their own name.

The Discretionary Bursary is available to meet costs of being in learning for those young people who face the greatest barriers and can support such costs as meals, travel, equipment

You will need to apply for the discretionary bursary and provide evidence of household income. If eligible this will be paid into a bank account weekly. Payment is also dependant upon required attendance and behaviour.

You will be given details and support to apply for the 16-19 Bursary when you visit Palmersville Training, or if you are a current learner then please speak to your key-worker.
